Rapid Response Specialist Mental Health Assessment Services

Rapid Response Specialist Mental Health Assessment Services

At Ray Medical Ltd, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional care to individuals facing complex challenges, particularly those with enduring mental health conditions. Additionally, we extend our support to individuals who may not have received a formal diagnosis or engaged with mental health services in the past, to ascertain if there is a need for mental health intervention or treatment.

Recognizing the urgency often associated with such support, we have established a specialized service that ensures a swift response. Our initial focus is on conducting thorough mental health assessments, enabling us to promptly identify and address our patients’ specific needs.

Within Just 5minutes of accepting the referral, our team initiates contact with each client. Furthermore, we commit to completing all assessments within a mere 2 hours of accepting the referral.

At Ray Medical Ltd, we place a premium on providing personalized Mental Health Assessment Services tailored to each patient. Catering to individuals aged 18 and above, we offer assessments at a location of their preference. We understand that seeking support can be a challenging endeavor, and it is our mission to streamline this process for those who choose to seek assistance.

Our team comprises qualified mental health specialists and psychiatrists. Initial assessments are conducted by a specialist mental health nurse assessor, whose primary role is to identify potential mental health concerns and collaborate with the assessment team to develop a comprehensive care plan. If psychosis is suspected, clients seeking treatment advice from our team may also be reviewed either by one of our team psychiatrists or by a trusted psychiatrist.

At Ray Medical Ltd, we aim to provide a home service assessment for private patients who are not willing to assess the NHS service either due to the long waiting list of patients who require assessment or wanting privacy because of the risk of stigmatisation. Our assessment services can also be carried out in other places, such as the following if needed

  • Prison
  • Police station
  • Refugee camp
  • Immigration centres
  • GP Surgery

Our private rapid response specialists are on hand to relieve any pressures that may come about when other providers cannot take on packages of care.

If you need immediate care, contact our responsive clinical lead within our office team as soon as possible, and we will allocate a specialist with a 24-hour team ready to support you.

Our private rapid response specialists will provide the following:

  • Quick turnaround
  • Practical, fast evaluation of all services.
  • A clinical lead is available 24 hours daily, ready to support you.
  • Rapid Response to Changes in Care.

Services will liaise with MDT as required.

After a mental health assessment, if an individual is determined to require support, we will signpost them to the appropriate services based on their needs. The following are some possible outcomes and benefits that may be recommended:

  • Local General Practitioner (GP): GPs are crucial in managing mental health concerns. They can provide ongoing support, prescribe necessary medication, and refer individuals to specialised mental health services.
  • Local Crisis Team: If the individual is in immediate crisis or at risk of harm, they may be referred to the local crisis team. Crisis teams typically consist of mental health professionals who can provide urgent intervention and support to meet client needs and prevent further deterioration.
  • Community Mental Health Team (CMHT): CMHTs offer comprehensive mental health services in the community. They provide ongoing care, treatment, and support for individuals with complex mental health needs. CMHTs often include psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other mental health professionals.
  • In situations where an individual’s mental health condition is severe and necessitates urgent intervention, or when there is a risk of harm to themselves or others, hospital admission may be advised to ensure a safe and structured environment for assessment and treatment. However, this is contingent upon bed availability and the patient flow management protocols of the local NHS Trust. It is important to note that we do not have the authority to arrange immediate hospital admission, and such decisions must be reviewed and coordinated with the appropriate teams.
  • Network Services: A network service refers to specialised mental health services that focus on specific conditions or populations. Examples include services for substance abuse, eating disorders, or technical assistance for children and adolescents.
  • IAPT Service/Counselling/Bereavement Support: Depending on the individual’s needs, we may refer them to IAPT services such as specialised counselling or bereavement support. These services provide targeted assistance for specific challenges and can offer a more focused approach to therapy.
  • Social Services/Safeguarding: If there are concerns about the individual’s social circumstances or potential safeguarding issues, we may refer to social services for further assessment and support.
  • Private Medical Review by Specialist Psychiatrists : Sometimes, individuals may choose to pursue private treatment. In such cases, we can connect the client with a trusted team of private psychiatrists who will review the initial assessment report, develop an appropriate treatment plan, and conduct follow-up reviews once treatment has commenced.
  • Our reliable and secure ambulance and non-emergency patient transport services are available at a discounted rate to safely transport patients to designated locations, such as Accident and Emergency or an appropriate mental health unit, if necessary.

It’s important to note that specific outcomes and referrals may vary based on individual needs, available resources, and local mental health services. The goal is to provide appropriate and tailored support to address individuals’ mental health concerns and promote their well-being.
